Research Paper Formatting Rules For Newbies In Academic Writing

The blocking replaces the quotation marks, and unlike the regular in-paragraph quotation, a parenthetical citation goes outside the final period instead of its inside (given that blocked quotes may contain several sentences).

In-text, quotations provide basic information; publication date, author’s name, and page number if required. The references section gives more extensive bibliographical information.
